Jeremy Parkins, founder and CEO of the veterans nonprofit Dress Right Dress, urged the Tiffin City Council to approve an honorary street naming to recognize Dr. Cacciarella's decades of local service as a pediatrician. Parkins described Dr. Cacciarella as a community staple who cared for multiple generations, and said the group preferred an honorary name that would avoid address changes for residents. "I am here formally asking the council to approve an honorary naming, not legal naming, Nelson Street Cacciarella Way in honor of doctor Cacciarella," Parkins said.
Council thanked Parkins for bringing the request and suggested the idea could be handled by committee. The mayor and council noted a preference to discuss committee assignment together with the strategic plan conversation, and the council said it would follow the same committee or committee‑of‑the‑whole scheduling process if a member chose to sponsor legislation.
