Graduates praise Public Works and Police at Smithville Citizens Academy recognition

A new Smithville resident and academy participant, Sammy Ragusa, said, "My name is Sammy Ragusa. I'm 1 of the, let's see, citizens academy right here..." and thanked staff for the experience. Another graduate said, "I really enjoyed all of the sessions," and several named parks and recreation, planning and zoning, and finance as favorites.
Board members noted the program's networking benefit and how it helps prospective committee members understand city operations. The Board also praised Gina and staff for organizing the program and encouraged broader participation in future sessions.
