The Fayette County Board of Commissioners conducted a public hearing June 1 on a petition to annex 490.860 acres (Martin Land Co. et al.) from Jefferson Township to the Village of Jeffersonville. Michael P. McNamee, agent for the petitioners, told the board that "The petition was properly filed" and described exhibits submitted to show statutory compliance, including a list of parcels and certificates of service.
After questions from attendees and clarifying statements by the agent, the board moved to table the vote on the annexation pending further decision.
