The committee discussed channels and approach: Chair Amy Weisfeld argued for using email marketing to push information to people who have signed up, while commissioners urged a mix including in-person community meetings and traditional media. Weisfeld suggested starting with biannual email updates to keep the resource burden manageable.
"I mean, sending email to, anybody who has signed up to receive our email... Please keep us up to date," Chair Amy Weisfeld said, arguing that a pushed email newsletter can reach people who prefer updates delivered directly. Commissioners also reaffirmed the value of attending community meetings, with staff noting strong turnout at recent events such as Underwood. Roger Nichols volunteered to help with local newspapers and radio outreach during the post-fire response period.
The committee agreed the cadence should reflect staff capacity; initial targets include two email issues per year and documenting community outreach under an existing metric for reporting.
