The Boone tourism and recreation committee reported to the council that Ragbride (Raglife) had strong attendance and earned recognition from event partners. "We had a great great turnout, and it's a phenomenal event," the presenter said, thanking volunteers and city staff for supporting the event.
The presenter highlighted marketing steps intended to keep momentum: a new billboard at Highway 30 and Story Street, a commercial aired on KCCI produced by Nathaniel Brown, new TikTok outreach run by Maggie Johnston, and promotional postcards distributed in local hotels. He said hotel-motel tax revenue rose by nearly $14,000 over last year, crediting large events — the NJCAA national golf tournament, a firefighters convention and a PGA/PGI event — for part of the gain. City staff and council members invited continued coordination with downtown businesses for future routing and promotion.
