Encore Sanger reports modest revenue, boosts downtown event traffic

Andrea Deaton, a representative of Encore Sanger, told the Biloxi City Council the management company has returned $7,201.20 in total revenue to the city since it assumed stewardship of the Biloxi Sanger Theatre. "Since Encore Sanger has taken over stewardship of the Biloxi Sanger Theatre, we have shared with the city a total revenue of $7,201.20," Deaton said.
Deaton provided a month-by-month breakdown — $600 for April, $12.96 for May and $5,305 for June — and listed recent attendance figures, saying the company drew more than 450 people for a homecoming event, about 141 at a Gary Michaels performance and more than 550 at a Blackwater Brass concert. She also outlined upcoming bookings including a Den Encore concert in August and a Biloxi Civic Orchestra performance on Oct. 25. The presentation emphasized local-business impacts and participation in downtown events such as Christmas on the Avenue.
Mayor (speaker 3) and council members praised the sound and programming. Councilman Creel asked about repairs and fundraising; Deaton said electrical upgrades and seat re-numbering are underway and that Encore Sanger is pursuing grants and will provide follow-up on outstanding loan and fundraising numbers. "We are in the process of currently applying for several grants," she said.
The council did not take a formal vote tied only to the presentation; Deaton concluded by thanking the council for the opportunity to report and offering to return with further details on fundraising and infrastructure costs.
