The Sedgwick County Board of Bids and Contracts approved the purchase of two 1-ton, 4-wheel-drive crew-cab flatbed fuel/lube trucks for Fleet Management at a total cost of $228,504. Britt Rosencutter, speaking for Fleet Management and Public Works, recommended "to accept the low bid meeting specs from Master Tech Truck and Equipment LLC in the amount of $228,504."
A board member asked for the model year of the trucks; Purchasing confirmed the trucks are 2025 models. The board discussed responsiveness of lower bidders: Purchasing said Parks Motors’ bid lacked pumps and receptacles for oil and grease and Don Hatton’s bid specified a diesel engine while the solicitation required a gas engine, so those bids were deemed nonresponsive. After brief discussion the board moved, seconded and approved the award.
Purchasing noted the trucks will be used to fuel and maintain equipment on job sites; staff will complete contracting steps and schedule delivery.
