Residents ask Cedarhurst to study Washington Avenue parking; mayor agrees to traffic study

Resident Michael Hatten told the board he wanted the meters removed from Washington Avenue between Broadway and Central Avenue and asked the village to create a No Parking zone on that block after the expansion of Lot #10. He filed a petition that the clerk’s file now holds.
Hatten said he wanted meters removed, specifically asking that the stretch between Broadway and Central Avenue be designated a No Parking zone. He told the board he filed a petition (copy on file). "I would like the meters removed from Washington Avenue between Broadway and Central Avenue," Hatten said.
Mayor Benjamin Weinstock responded that he agreed to look into the request and would have a traffic study conducted for the area to evaluate parking and safety implications. The board indicated it will consider meter removals and any changes following the traffic study.
