Commission approves temporary Volga vote center move for July runoff due to Samara Avenue construction
Summary
Because Samara Avenue construction will restrict access to the usual community center, the commission approved Resolution 26-23 to move the Volga vote center for the July 28, 2026 primary runoff to the First Reformed Church for that election only; the city administrator agreed to help spread the notice.

The commission approved a resolution (26-23) to change the vote center location in Volga for the July 28, 2026 primary runoff only. Staff explained that Samara Avenue Phase 3 construction will temporarily affect access to the community center where voting is typically held; the First Reformed Church in Volga agreed to host the vote center for the runoff.
Staff said the city administrator, Michael Schulte, will assist with public notices via the city Facebook page and website and the commission instructed staff to publicize the temporary change so voters know the alternate location for the runoff.
