Trustees authorized the purchase of a new Public Works vehicle — a 2028 International HV607 cab and chassis with upfitting — at a total cost of $211,638.
Staff explained availability challenges and lead times for the specialized vehicle and told trustees that signing the purchase agreement now will lock in the price. "And if we approve this, we hopefully will get a truck by 2028," the chair said as the board discussed timing and procurement. The motion to authorize the purchase passed by roll call.
The purchase is part of ongoing fleet replacement planning; staff noted prior vehicles and configurations and explained that the current specification better fits the department's requirements.
