Sedgwick County’s purchasing board voted Feb. 6 to accept the low bid from CDJ Automotive LLC, doing business as Main Street of Lansing, for 10 marked police pursuit SUVs in the amount of $463,950. Presenter Bridal Rosencutter recommended the award, saying the vehicles are intended for high‑performance patrol and pursuit duties across the sheriff’s office.
Board members asked whether the bid price included delivery and sheriff markings; purchasing staff confirmed the price is delivered to Wichita and the vehicle package does not include graphics. Beau Bergeron of Fleet Management said the county performs vehicle setup — “They add in the lights, and the siren, and the decaling in house.” He added that warranty repairs for the fitted equipment are handled in‑house, while warranty service on the vehicle itself goes to Dodge dealerships.
