The Brooksville Community Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously to recommend that the City Council adopt the South Brooksville Unified Plan and to transmit required notifications to taxing authorities.
A board member read the resolution aloud and staff told the board the measure would be presented to City Council for adoption at a September meeting. As read, “A resolution of the Brooksville Community Redevelopment Agency of the City Of Brooksville, Florida recommending that the city council adopt proposed unified South Brooksville community redevelopment plan in providing for transmittal to taxing authorities, conflict, severability, and an effective date.”
Staff described the administrative next steps and noted the CRA had already held a first reading of a TIF ordinance that would create a trust fund for the taxing area. “So, staff recommends that this be, favorably, passed by y’all and sent to city council for adoption,” the staff speaker said during the presentation. There were no public comments on the item.
The CRA took a roll-call vote and the motion passed 4–0. The board will transmit the plan and required notices to taxing bodies and the City Council will consider formal adoption at its upcoming meeting in September.
