Board approves vacating two lots in Trails Phase 4 subdivision

The Suwannee County Board adopted a resolution on Aug. 4 approving an application by Richard Bond to vacate Lots 7 and 8 of The Trails Phase 4 subdivision and revert the parcels to a metes‑and‑bounds description.
Planning staff explained the statutory basis and public‑notice requirements for the request. "Chapter 177, Florida statute, puts in a provision to allow the Board of County Commissioners to vacate all or portions of plats," staff (Meeks) told the board, and staff confirmed the required advertisement and application materials were on file. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.
Commissioner Mobley moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Land seconded. The board voted 5‑0 to adopt the resolution and authorize record updates. Staff entered the file into the record and the action will be reflected in county plats and clerk records.
