Jerseyville council approves $965,454.90 low bid for Pleasant Street drainage project

The Jerseyville City Council on Dec. 23 approved a notice of award for Pleasant Street and vicinity drainage improvements, Phase 2, and authorized the mayor, city clerk and director of public works to sign the associated paperwork. Commissioner John Miles moved the motion and Commissioner Steve Pohlman seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous.
Director of Public Works Manns reported that "four bids were received with JP Burns Excavating being low bidder at $965,454.90." The council approved the award dated Dec. 17, 2025, clearing the way for the city to finalize contracting and move toward construction of the drainage improvements designed to address stormwater issues in the Pleasant Street area.
