Council names chair, vice-chair and approves mayoral board and department-head appointments

REDFIELD — The Redfield City Council on May 5 elected Jessi Lewis as council Chairperson and Mike Siebrecht as Vice-Chairperson after nominations and formal votes. Mayor Frank Schwartz presented several board appointments and department-head designations that the council approved, including reappointments to the Library Board and Park & Recreation Board and department heads taking office May 1, 2025.
The appointments include Public Works Director Tracy Schroeder; Parks and Recreation Director Bennett Osborn; Librarian Sarah Jones-Lutter; Assistant Librarian Amanda Evans; Senior Citizens Director Lisa Manning; Chamber/Tourism Director Kimberly Leonhardt; Hospital Administrator Karen Sjurseth; Public Health Officer Dr. Kristine Wren; Finance Officer Adam Hansen; and Assistant Finance Officer Jennesa Jandel. The council also approved committee assignments for councilmembers and ratified administrative items including the bond of the Finance Officer, appointment of Gillette Law Office as legal counsel and The Redfield Press as the official newspaper.
