Trappe completes lead service line inventory; 252 properties to receive "unknown" notices, ARPA workshop set

Town Administrator Erin Braband reported to the Council that Trappe completed and submitted its lead service line inventory to the Maryland Department of the Environment on Oct. 15, 2024 and is preparing to send 252 letters to properties categorized as "unknown." Braband also said that consulting firm Davis, Bowen & Friedel offered to amend its contract to use additional ARPA funds to continue the inventory work; the Council asked DBF to work with town staff to draft an amendment for Council review.
Braband asked the Council to schedule a workshop to discuss allocating the remaining ARPA funds before Dec. 31; the Council set that workshop for Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. The minutes record no final ARPA allocations at the Nov. 6 meeting; staff follow-up was requested to present amended contract language and options for ARPA spending.
