Trappe introduces overhaul of town procurement policy; public hearing set for Dec. 4

"An Ordinance of the Council of Trappe to repeal and replace the Town Procurement Policy governing purchases by the Town was read by President Schmidt," the record states. Commissioner Jeremy Newnam moved to introduce the ordinance and Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded; the introduction passed unanimously. The Council scheduled a public hearing on Dec. 4, 2024 at 5:45 p.m. for public comment and final consideration.
The ordinance was presented as a follow-up to council-requested changes discussed at the previous meeting; the Town Attorney reviewed draft language in advance. No final vote or specific procurement-rule text changes were adopted at the Nov. 6 meeting.
