The Town Council approved a request from Yvonne Freeman, chairman of the Nace’s Day celebration, to close Main Street from Slaughter Lane to Howell Point Road on November 2 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the parade and related activities. Sgt. Aita said he would coordinate with the Sheriff’s Office on street closures and traffic control, and Commissioner Jeremy Newnam noted the fire department has barricades available. The Council unanimously approved the closure and park use request and directed staff to coordinate safety and logistics with county law enforcement and the volunteer fire department.
