City Center Plaza to host weekly Farmers & Artisan Market; council waives rental fee for JCBA

The council approved a rental agreement for the Jersey County Business Association to use City Center Plaza for a weekly Farmers and Artisan Market (Tuesdays, June 3–Sept. 9, 4–7 p.m., excluding July 8) and waived the rental fee. JCBA said vendor participation increased after moving to the plaza.
The Jerseyville City Council approved a rental agreement allowing the Jersey County Business Association to operate a Farmers and Artisan Market at City Center Plaza every Tuesday from June 3 through September 9, 4–7 p.m., excluding Parade Night on July 8. Commissioner Zachary Crawford made the motion and Commissioner Anthony Steckel seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The council also approved JCBA’s request to waive the rental fee for the market (motion by Commissioner John Miles, seconded by Commissioner Zachary Crawford). Whitney McIver of JCBA told the council vendors have increased since the event moved to City Center Plaza.
