Council approves $1,000 scholarship contribution to Jersey CUSD #100 Foundation

The Jerseyville City Council unanimously approved a $1,000 contribution to the Jersey Community Unit #100 Foundation for student scholarships. Commissioner Zachary Crawford made the motion, and Commissioner Anthony Steckel seconded.
Bob Manns, speaking as a member of the Foundation board, said, "in the last 20 years the Foundation has contributed over $800,000.00 in scholarships and grants. The last four years 100% of the money received has gone to scholarships." The council voted aye with no nays recorded.
