The Simsbury Conservation Commission on Aug. 4, 2026, voted to approve IWWA Application CC #26-11, a wetlands permit enabling construction of a single‑family home in the upland review area at 30 Riverside Road (Assessor’s Map Block Lot H12 107 030) in Zone R‑15. Assistant Town Planner Brittany MacGilpin told the commission the application had been determined non‑significant at the July 21 meeting.
Secretary Joseph Campolieta moved to approve the permit; Vice Chair Jason Levy seconded. The motion included a finding that short‑term impacts from the proposed activity will be controlled by installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls. The motion carried unanimously (7‑0‑0).
The approval is subject to six conditions spelled out in the motion: implementation in conformance with the submitted Site Plan prepared by Denno Land Surveying and Consulting, LLC, dated March 6, 2026; use of native plantings and removal of invasive species to the greatest extent practicable; installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls while work is underway; compliance with the Connecticut Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control, 2002 (CTDEP Bulletin 34); removal of erosion controls upon direction of the Commission’s agent after site stabilization; and at least 48 hours’ notification to the Inland Wetlands Agent prior to commencement of activities.
The conditions and the unanimous vote mean the applicant may proceed only after satisfying the listed plan and erosion‑control requirements and notifying the designated agent. The commission did not record any amendments to the motion or a roll‑call of individual votes in the minutes.
