Sunnybrook SD 171 board adopts second readings of multiple district policies
Summary

Mrs. Desiree Ambrose, a board member, moved to waive second readings and adopt the policies listed by the Policy Committee; Ms. Kenisha LeSure seconded the motion and the board voted 7-0 to carry the motion.
The policies adopted at second reading include Policy 2:80 (Board Member Oath and Conduct), Policy 2:130 (Board–Superintendent Relationship), Policy 2:260 (Uniform Grievance Procedure), Policy 4:15 (Identity Protection), Policy 5:20 (Workplace Harassment Prohibited), and a range of student-focused policies such as Policy 7:20 (Harassment of Students Prohibited), Policy 7:200 (Suspension Procedures), Policy 7:210 (Expulsion Procedures) and Policy 7:300 (Extracurricular Athletics). The agenda listed the full set of policy numbers under the Policy Committee item.
"To wave and adopt the second reading of the polices listed above, as presented," the motion read on the agenda and was entered into the minutes. The unanimous vote formalizes the district's adoption of the listed governance and student-safety rules ahead of the coming school year.
