County approves seven bids including two bridge projects and courthouse remodel

Purchasing Director Joe Thomas presented the Board of Bids and Contracts report and recommended seven contract awards for approval. Key items included two bridge improvement low bids (King Construction Co., $967,314.50; Don Linger & Sons, $437,643), a Kronos workforce maintenance and support agreement for IT ($151,411.36), juvenile services agreements with multiple providers, a courthouse annex remodel low bid (Icon Structures, $913,250), a zoo mainline backflow installation ($183,317.45), and an elections office annual maintenance agreement ($5,065).
"We have seven items that we're seeking your approval for," Joe Thomas said, listing project scope and recommended low bidders. The commission approved the recommendations with one item deferred; the chair noted there were eight items on the board list and one was deferred back to staff for later consideration.
These contract awards set procurement and project work in motion; staff will return to the board as needed with execution details and timelines.
