Castle Pines City Council approved Resolution 26-28 on April 28, 2026, awarding a construction contract with LA Western Construction Management, Inc. doing business as Nicholas Construction Inc. to build a monument at the Monarch Boulevard roundabout. City Engineer Dol Grubinik said the contractor previously built the east monument and provided efficient, competitive pricing; he stated the construction contract for the monument work is approximately $219,000.
Engineer Grubinik said conduit and irrigation infrastructure were installed during roundabout construction, reducing the scope of work needed for the monument. Council members asked about lighting and were told a separate contractor (PAR, working with Core) would energize lighting soon; staff said lighting activation is pending final coordination.
The council approved the contract and asked staff to circulate renderings to members who requested them.
