Rivera also urged the council to pursue a green‑corridor pilot on vacant lots and pressed the council to adopt an animal‑welfare/fireworks noise reduction resolution to reduce multiple city fireworks events to a single annual event. "The new lights are throwing too much light in width and the color is blue heavy," Rivera said, and he called for easier constituent access to council members at City Hall.
