Steve Longgarner, introduced by the board as the library director, told trustees that circulation for February was up by about 6%, with children’s use showing the biggest gain. "So circulation for the month of February was up 6% overall," he said, and staff flagged the increase in youth engagement as notable for programming and outreach planning.
Longgarner described LibraryIQ, a new analytics tool that displays card use geographically and can show infrequent users, which staff hope will help target outreach and satellite or mobile services. Trustees suggested staff follow up with demonstrations for board members to support planning and decision-making about service locations.
