The City Council approved a resolution to amend the city infrastructure project list so 12 additional projects can be funded through the 2026 bond sale, a move CAO staff said will allow the city to reclass expenses and free cash previously earmarked from general, special-revenue and grant funds.
“Kyle” from the CAO’s office told the council the added projects had been paid previously through other funds and moving them to bond financing will improve the city’s cash flow. Council Vice President Willard pressed for clarity on how the amended list differs from the voters’ bond proposition, and Kyle said the list is “nearly identical” but adds the 12 projects now under consideration.
The council moved the resolution, received a second and recorded the vote as seven in favor and none opposed. Sponsors said no projects included on the voter-approved list were being removed — the action merely expands the set of projects eligible for 2026 bond proceeds.
