The Gage County Board of Equalization voted July 21 to adopt referee-recommended valuation changes for multiple parcels, approving the list read into the record by Acting Chairman Gary Lytle. The motion to approve the changes, with exceptions for parcels pulled for reconsideration, was made by Supervisor Rick Clabaugh and seconded by Supervisor Terry Jurgens; the motion carried 4-0 with Supervisors Rex Adams, Rick Clabaugh, Gary Lytle and Terry Jurgens voting yes.
The list of approved reductions included a range of adjustments to 2026 assessed values. Examples read into the record by Lytle included Jeffrey Given (parcel 010867000) reduced from $321,365 to $297,215 and Elizabeth DeVries (parcel 010316000) reduced from $358,310 to $331,220. The referees' recommendations also noted a clerical correction for parcel 011768000 (Gloria Ottersberg), with a corrected value recorded after the meeting.
The board reserved action on a set of parcels associated with owner Dale Rickers (line items 1–8 in the packet) for reconsideration at the July 24 meeting. Acting Chairman Lytle read the referee recommendations into the record before the vote; the clerk certified the proceedings and the board adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
