The Gage County Board of Equalization on July 22, 2026, approved referee recommendations to lower assessed valuations on numerous parcels after property valuation protests. Vice Chairman Emily M. Haxby presided; Supervisors Rex Adams, Rick Clabaugh, Emily Haxby and Gary Lytle were present for the afternoon session. The board voted 4-0 to approve the compiled list of valuation changes with exceptions for parcels already pulled for separate consideration.
The referee list read into the record included large reductions for multiple properties. Notable examples in the recommendations included parcel 011600202 (Alicia Garnett), reduced from $1,221,955 to $837,115, and parcel 015077514 (Nolan Schafer), reduced from $802,225 to $654,280. The board separately approved individual motions to adjust parcel #011062501 (Jeffrey Cullison) to $240,585 and parcel #011390000 (Dustin Gesin) to $133,730, each carried 4-0. Several parcels, including parcel #010876522 (Larry Hibbert), were pulled for further review and scheduled for reconsideration at a later meeting.
