Resident asks Pine County to correct apparent property-tax listing error on public portal

Denise Weiss, a resident of Graston, told the Pine County Board during public forum that she found a Beacon listing showing 505 Main Street with unpaid 2025 property taxes and a $248.70 penalty. "It says that you have not paid your property taxes for 2025 and that there's a 248 dollar and 70 cent penalty," Weiss said, urging the board to correct the record so it does not appear that commissioners are failing to pay their taxes.
Weiss said she frequently reviews the county's Beacon records and that most entries were accurate, but this single listing could harm the board's reputation unless corrected. She asked the board to either update or remove the entry before the meeting ended. Chair acknowledged the request and asked staff to review and correct the listing if it is inaccurate.
The board did not take formal action on the spot beyond asking staff to investigate and report back; commissioners later continued with the agenda. The board did not state a timetable for correction during the meeting.
