Plant operator (speaker 4) told the board the program will start Aug. 17 and run for about 30 days; hydrant flow testing and hydrant maintenance will follow over 3–5 weeks, and then staff will perform leak detection. In the transcript the operator said, verbatim, "We will be starting our unidirectional question program on August 17." Staff clarified they meant the unidirectional flushing program and explained the schedule and expected customer complaints during flushing operations.
The operator said the UDF was skipped last year because of softener work and that resuming it will get the system back on the usual every-other-year cadence. Board members were alerted about potential customer concerns and operational impacts; staff will post notices and coordinate hydrant testing and leak-detection crews as part of the maintenance sequence.
