Board accepts $3 million state water grant for Parkwood well and improvements

The board voted 4–0 to accept $3,000,000 in unanticipated revenue for Maintenance District 19A (Parkwood) derived from a state water grant to fund well and infrastructure improvements.
Public Works Director Jared Carter said the project is well under way: "I think we anticipate, a few more months in having this done, before the end of the year. I know the well is drilled now, and they're working all the equipment equipping to equip that well," he said. The approved action places the $3 million in a grant anticipation note to cash-flow the project and reimburse through the award.
Supervisors praised the progress and said the improvements will help prepare Parkwood for future consolidation with the City of Madera; staff will continue construction oversight and grant reconciliation.
