Three retiring Iowa House members honored on 100th day of session

Representative Turek of Potawatomi urged colleagues to continue serving vulnerable Iowans and to maintain accessibility in the People’s House. Turek said, "This is the People's House, and it should be accessible to all Iowans, including the 1 in 5 Iowans with a disability." Nearby colleagues later joined in congratulating the retirees.
Another retiring member reflected on committee work with the Department of Natural Resources and thanked clerks and staff for their support in a lengthy personal farewell. Representative Andrews (District 43) closed his remarks by urging colleagues to "put Iowans first," saying, "Let's keep putting Iowa first." The House proceeded with the remainder of its schedule after the speeches and later recessed for party caucuses.
