"My opening statement was as recent as this past Monday, our township meeting was shut down due in no small part from my what in my opinion was overregulation," Stradeck said, and he asked whether the zoning update had been "dictated, mandated, or regulated."

Stradeck said he had been told at a zoning commission meeting that the board might not enforce the update against a particular landowner — a statement he said raised further concerns about whether enforcement would be selective. "We probably will not enforce this on the Bernie Palmer property because he may beat us in court," he said he was told. He asked commissioners to note his statement for the record and to clarify the legal basis and parameters for the township’s zoning changes.
