Resident appeals after county says complaint investigation is closed, FOIA denied

Mary Anne Shanholtz told the Finance Committee she had filed a complaint with the county and that she was informed the investigation had been closed. She reported her most recent FOIA request was denied, which she was told was due to the absence of a written closure to the investigation.
Melonie Tilley, chair, told Shanholtz the "case was closed" and said she would arrange a meeting with the State's Attorney, Mr. Markwell, to review the matter. Shanholtz said she had filed an appeal with the State regarding the denial. The committee did not record further action beyond Tilley’s offer to set a meeting; Shanholtz was advised she had initiated a state appeal.
