County Engineer: Asphalt plant operating; paving set for June in Henry County

Scott Stephenson, Henry County Engineer, reported to the Transportation Committee on May 14 that the county's asphalt plant is operating and that crews have made a patch and plan to begin paving in June. "Asphalt plant is operating and patch has been made. We will be paving in June," Stephenson told the committee.
Stephenson also said the highway department has hired three summer help employees (the department typically hires four) and has begun painting county highways this week. There was no public comment on the report and the committee adjourned at 3:41 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the Office of the County Engineer.
