On Feb. 19 the DeWitt County Board voted to award a maintenance truck bid to Douglas Dodge for $43,000 and to buy a snowplow from Foremost Truck and Trailer for $7,900.
During discussion Carter and Myers questioned whether contracting plowing would be cheaper than buying another truck; others, including Werts and Witte, said keeping an in‑house vehicle ensures ambulance access and allows the old truck to be used for salt. The truck award motion carried with eight ayes and four nays; the snowplow purchase carried with nine ayes and three nays.
