DCDC reports business openings, hiring and a $245,000 grant in updates to county board

Curt Homann, representing the DCDC, briefed the DeWitt County Board on ongoing economic development activity across Clinton and Farmer City. "Kwik Wall started December 8, 2025," Homann reported; he also said Meyer Utility Structures "have hired 100 welders and plan to hire 10–15 every month until they are fully staffed." Homann said Longview Bank opened in Clinton in May 2025 and Mariah's Mums was awarded a grant of $245,000.
Homann said he and Tony Harris attended a hotel conference to generate interest in hotels for Clinton and Farmer City and reported that both locations gained developer interest. He said downtown revitalization conversations continue and that housing projects for Clinton and Farmer City are being discussed. The board received the report as an informational update; no formal board action was taken on the economic development items at the meeting.
