Board says funding formula 'guardrails' left district millions short over two years

“Come into this year, we were told last year that the guardrails were a one‑year phenomenon. Well, guess what? Here we are again,” Doering said. Superintendent Sitton and administrators described ongoing conversations with the new governor’s office, the commissioner and several legislators to seek adjustments. They said any restored funds would reduce the tax levy impact rather than be used for other purposes.
