The Board of Education of the Toms River Regional Schools approved the 2027 pupil calendar and a slate of routine agenda items during its regular monthly meeting. On motions that were seconded, the board also adopted several policies on second reading (noting that policy P2422 was tabled) and approved personnel agenda items including addendum hires and retirements.
Board members recorded unanimous roll-call approval for the resolution recognizing School Board Recognition Month in New Jersey and for the other routine items listed on the consent agenda. A member requested that the posted calendar include a disclaimer clarifying that, in the event of excessive inclement weather, the board reserves the right to adjust school days to preserve graduation timelines; the chair agreed that language would be added to the posted version of the calendar. "But I hope that, we can add something to the bottom. Additional to just say if there's any snow days where they'll be replaced," a board member said during the calendar discussion.
Several personnel motions passed on roll call. The board also publicly thanked longtime staff leaving the district; the chair noted that Dawn Radich, a long-serving human resources employee, plans to retire at the end of the summer after roughly 38–39 years of service. The board approved program agenda items 1–9 and tabled item 10 as presented. Meetings and votes were conducted in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act.
