A board member said central administration and local officials are pursuing a grant opportunity to install playground equipment at Pine Beach Elementary and thanked Mayor Cuneo for his support in writing a letter to assist the application process.
Facilities staff described the Walnut Street gym floor as buckled due to moisture in the concrete and recommended a complete replacement. Staff said the gym-floor work would be a candidate for capital-reserve funding and would likely be scheduled for replacement over a summer to minimize disruption to programming.
“We're working on getting a playground set up at Pine Beach Elementary,” a board member said. Facilities staff added the Walnut Street floor "needs a complete replacement" and will be considered during next year's budget for capital projects.
