Barry Farner, who introduced himself as "assistant superintendent of the office for child and peer education at the Louisiana Department of Education," opened the third review meeting of the Bulletin 137 recommendations and outlined the chapter-by-chapter process and the project timeline, including future meetings on Aug. 20 and Sept. 3.
The group reviewed a slate of suggested edits to Chapter 19 that staff and providers had submitted via a public Google form. Topics discussed included notification and posting requirements, sleeping and feeding guidance, outdoor fencing standards, incident-reporting documentation and whether some provisions are redundant with other codes or federal guidance. The meeting concluded with a reminder about the next meeting and that legal review and additional agency checks would occur before final recommendations are filed.
