Senate adopts Mississippi River Parkway changes and passes DOT modernization bill

Senator Zumbaugh explained that Senate Amendment 5076 to SF 2088 would alter the Mississippi River Parkway Commission by assigning one appointed member from each designated county, reducing ex officio seats from seven to four, and requiring an annual report on the Great River Road's economic impact to the General Assembly and the governor by Dec. 15 each year. "The amendment also requires the commission to submit an annual report to the General Assembly and the governor, which outlines the economic impact of the Great River Road by December 15 each year," he said.
No senators sought further debate; the amendment was adopted and the Senate read the bill for final passage. The Senate recorded a unanimous vote (47–0) and declared the bill passed. The amended bill title on the floor reflected the DOT modernization and commission changes.
