Board authorizes continuing painting services and procurement waiver for contractor Craig Gammon
Summary
Facilities staff asked the board to authorize continuing painting and drywall repairs with contractor Craig Gammon under a procurement waiver that could exceed $30,000; staff said Gammon won summer bids and the ongoing services reflect continuation rather than a single‑project procurement. The board approved the approach.

Kevin Hinton presented a request to approve procurement for ongoing painting and drywall repair services to continue work with contractor Craig Gammon, noting that the arrangement will accumulate work over the year and that any single contract exceeding $30,000 would be returned to the board. "This contract will be for our painting, services provided by mister Craig Gammon's company," Hinton said as he outlined the need to streamline maintenance work and use a continuation/waiver process for recurring services.
Board members asked whether informal bids were collected and whether district staff might be used for some summer work. Hinton said Gammon had won prior competitive summer bids and that the ongoing contract reflects continuity; he estimated most projects are now 90–95% complete for the summer and that the district will continue to evaluate feasibility of using in‑house staff for some tasks. The board approved the procurement approach by roll call.
