City told FRA grant covers most of project; ODOT and state agencies support preferred option

"We've gone through two rounds of geometric review with ODOT, and ODOT District 6 has approved of our geometrics," Littmer said. He also said Ohio Environmental Services supports the selection of the preferred alternative and that the Ohio Rail Development Commission is in support; he reported that ORDC reached out to the railroad and the railroad is under contract and actively reviewing the design set for concurrence.
Littmer framed agency concurrence as a critical step that has begun; he said the recent railroad agreement makes it more likely the project can advance through detailed design. The next step is a proposed agreement for the city and ODOT for continued design services under the grant award and an additional round of public involvement.
