Board flags safety concerns, orders two signs and notes maintenance needs ahead of season

During the Fair and Rodeo Board meeting, members reported that maintenance staff — including Mr. Lynskey — have been working on drainage, the crow's nest, painting and tree removal, and that overnight stalls have been heavily used. Chairman Ben Noyes relayed compliments about facility cleanliness.
Member Martin Troutt obtained a Newman Signs quote for a 30"x40" sign at $147.04 plus $120 to post; the board agreed to purchase two signs (north and south) using the facility repair and maintenance budget. Members also flagged safety items for follow-up, including inspecting bucking chutes, repairing a gate that was off its hinges, and budgeting asphalt repairs in front of the parimutuel in the next fiscal year. Chairman Noyes relayed a request from R. Sandoval to level a paddock mound and suggested the district supply the skid steer while Sandoval performs the work.
