The White Pine County board voted to buy additional track railing for repairs, with Member Bill Panagopoulos moving the purchase and Member Martin Troutt seconding. The motion authorized spending up to $10,000 for extra railing; staffer Cole Burdick will place the order.
Board members also noted that cedar planking needed to repair the grandstands has arrived and that maintenance crews will begin repairs. Basin Engineering completed a survey of the race track and will stake the alignment ahead of Lopez installing the new railing, and the board discussed the track's breakaway design and the need to be able to replace sections after impact.
