Denton trustees approve tree removal, appoint street superintendent and pass routine claims

The Village of Denton Board of Trustees carried several routine actions at its May 4, 2026 meeting. Chair Joe Hobelman presided as the board approved a $1,800 contract with Top Down Tree Service to remove a tree at the corner of Cass Avenue and W Denton Road; the roll call vote was 4–1, with Trustee Amanda Fangmeier casting the lone nay.
Trustee Ryan Osborn moved and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded the appointment of Hunter Moural of Olsson (License S-1838) as the village street superintendent for the remainder of 2026; the motion carried. The board also adopted Resolution 16-5-1 (Disaster Relief NRD), as recorded in the meeting materials, and voted to opt out of terrorism coverage on the annual insurance policy following a motion by Trustee Doug Rosekrans and a second from Wheatley.
Finance actions included approval of Claims List A ($73,692.89) and List B ($8,877.85), disbursement from Keno checking of $54,624.00, and net payroll for April of $10,695.71. The board also approved a transfer of $30,000 from Keno Checking to the General Fund. Village Clerk/Treasurer Charlotte TeBrink presented vendor details that were entered into the record.
