Chairwoman Christi Haswell and department managers briefed the Board on staffing, infrastructure and upcoming deadlines. Haswell noted that County Planner Mark Reid and County Engineer Ken Muller were unavailable for the meeting and said "the Road & Bridge phone system remains down despite their efforts to resolve the issue." IT Manager Mark Rambur told the board phone lines at Road & Bridge have been down since May 5 and that calls are being forwarded to a cell phone while staff explores replacement options.
Fairgrounds Director Kimber Solberg reported a "successful Memorial Day weekend at the fairgrounds, including multiple graduation parties and a livestock jackpot with kids from five states," and provided event statistics as of May 31, 2025. County Treasurer Katie Araas reminded residents that the property tax refund application deadline is Monday, June 1, and that long-term homeowner and veterans' exemption applications are due the same day; she said the Treasurer's office has processed over 500 refund applications so far.
