The commission approved Conditional Use Permit CUP25‑09 to allow Nex‑Tech Wireless to construct a communication tower at 868 SW 48th St. Planning staff told the commission the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval subject to conditions including a 250‑foot height limit (plus lightning rod), a requirement that decommissioned towers be removed and sites restored, payment of a road‑impact fee and a requirement to rectify any interference with public‑safety radio communications at Camp Hawk.
Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2025‑26 authorizing the permit. Planning and the applicant agreed to notify the planning office of any change in tower ownership and to provide screening where lighting or visual impact affects neighboring residential properties.
